Our Who's the Closer? page is now a feature of the main site, rather than being a forum thread. You can find it RIGHT HERE. Please continue to use this thread to suggest changes/corrections.

Don't be surprised if the Phillie's call up Henry Rowengartner. Virtually unknown now, Rowengartner pitched as a Starter for the Cubs back in 93. His last game he recorded a 3 inning save though suffering a shoulder injury in the 9th. Rowengartner is now 28 and ready for the majors once again with a dominating 100+ mph fastball and complimenting it with a devastating floater pitch. Should Brad Lidge find himself in trouble again this season it is more than possible that Rowengartner could replace him out of the bullpen.

Was surprised to see Aardsma in red, after how awesome he was last year. And Saito would have to be "next in line" for Atlanta, wouldn't he (at least as much as Rauch is in MN)?

Yes on Saito ... and, uh, yes on the Aardsma color change. Not sure why I was thinking their closer situation wasn't so cut and dried. (Maybe because I owned Lowe in a deep holds league last season and knew he got some save opportunities in September.) But looking back on '09 in entirety, Aardsma should certainly be the guy in 2010.

Thanks, Bill! (BTW, Bill's post is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for in this thread. If we all pitch in and I update often and promptly, we can keep this guide ridiculously up to date.)

Yeah, I've got a new Bits o' Hurl coming hopefully first thing tomorrow that talks a bit about the Pittsburgh closer situation, and I'll make sure I add Dotel here once he officially signs. (Which I don't think has happened just yet, but I've been out of the loop all weekend.)

Actually, if Hanrahan was 100 percent healthy, I'd wager that he still starts the season as the closer with Dotel pitching the eighth and ready to take the closing gig if Hanrahan stumbles even a little. But Hanrahan's reportedly having some arm issues, which likely makes Dotel the favorite for the job. Definitely a situation worth monitoring.

Shouldn't Jason Frasor be favourite in Toronto - or at least in the discussion?

Also Brandon League might get a look in in Seattle - especially when David Aardsma returns to normal.

Spot the Jays fan!

Looks like Toronto will have a competition for closer. Frasor's definitely involved. I bet Downs is still the favorite. I've made the changes.

League's probably behind Lowe as far as closers-in-waiting go, but I'll add him.

Roto Authority is reporting Hughes as the #5 SP for the Yanks with Joba the Hut as Rivera`s backup. this appears contrary to Rotoworld`s report that the rotation is still open. Is there a Belichick in the Yankee`s press department?

I actually noted that as of yesterday it was posted on espn that ryan madson is closer in philly with baez number 2 and lidge number 3, though being a philly local I have yet to hear anything whatsoever on a local level substantiating this

Great list. I have heard an increasing amount of buzz regarding Brandon Lyon closing in Houston over Lindstrom.
