spied the new packs at wal-mart. sprang for a regular($1.98) and jumbo($4.98) just to see what`s what this year. attractive classic-style regular cards with full career on reverse for us stat hounds. aside from holding down prices ,topps has pulled out the stops on inserts and promotions in an obvious bid for supremacy in the collector`s market. notably topps is now the exclusive MLB license holder so don`t expect to see your favorite team`s logo on upper deck or other cards sponsored solely by the MLPA. i pulled a geovany soto game jersey card as well as a redemption card for topps` million card giveaway "...giving you back the cards your mom threw out!"

yeah, nowadays i guess computers will be cleaning off the uniforms rather than a guy with an air-brush. many upper deck pics will likely feature poses that mask the lack of logo (unlike this example from a nabisco issue)
