Mere hours after ESPN went live, Yahoo has now also opened fantasy baseball registration for the 2010 season. As expected, StatTracker -- Yahoo's live scoring app -- is now free. In fact, it looks like Yahoo's entire wealth of fantasy-baseball services, including full league customization, carries no cost this year. I can't find a link to register a Yahoo Plus league at all. The other big news: Yahoo is now offering auction leagues! With the big three all up and running, it's time to get serious. The 2nd Annual Hurler Invitational is coming. Details soon ...
UPDATE: Yep, Plus leagues are no more. Full league customization is free. Yahoo is offering what it calls "premium add-ons," which include a championship bobblehead or t-shirt for your league winner ($20) and trade review services ($15). (Yes, for fifteen bucks Yahoo fantasy experts will review protested trades in your league and make a final ruling on whether they're fair or not. Unreal.)
Also new this year: "Commissioners can pause their live standard or auction drafts with up to five time outs and undo picks." Undo picks? WTF?!
